The library program at Rugel helps students prepare for TAKS by providing students with

* access to a current and extensive collection of books and other print materials;

* enthusiastic teachers and other adults who serve as positive reading role models;

*  time during the school day dedicated to reading for pleasure, information, and exploration;

*  opportunities specifically designed to engage students in reading;

•  * a school that creates an environment where independent reading is valued, promoted and encouraged.
