Apple Corps

The Apple Corps program rewards excellence in teaching by honoring outstanding MISD teachers.

Created in January 1990, this honorary program inducts 16 new teachers each year. They are nominated by their peers and approved by administration and enjoy many forms of public recognition and appreciation each year, including the MISD Apple Corps Gala, where retired and current teachers inducted into the Corps come together for a night of celebration.

Two MISD teachers are inducted each month at the School Board Meeting. The newest additions to the Apple Corps are Jeanet Finol Valdivieso of Cross Elementary and Rodrigo Ramirez Fernandez of Shaw Elementary School. Please watch their videos below to learn more about these outstanding teachers.
