Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is an exciting district-wide reading competition that challenges students to work collaboratively, think critically, and celebrate their love for literature. Teams of students read a curated list of books and compete in a quiz-bowl style contest to demonstrate their comprehension, recall, and enthusiasm for reading. Designed to promote teamwork and academic engagement, Battle of the Books fosters a spirit of friendly competition while encouraging students to explore diverse genres and authors. Each year, participating schools across Mesquite ISD come together for this dynamic literary event, showcasing student achievement and a passion for lifelong reading.
