Jennifer Miller has dedicated her entire 27-year teaching career to Mesquite ISD. She currently serves as a 7th grade science and 8th grade AVID teacher at Kimbrough Middle School, where she also supports students and staff as an AVID campus leader. Miller has earned several recognitions throughout her career, including the ETIP Classroom Scholar distinction, and she also serves as the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) sponsor. Over the years, she has taught at several Mesquite ISD campuses including Tosch, Moss, Gentry, Kimball and Range Elementary Schools.
A Mesquite High School graduate, Miller says her passion for teaching began early in life. “I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember,” Miller said. As a child, she often played school in her bedroom, an experience that eventually grew into what she describes as a lifelong calling to help students grow into confident and capable learners.
Looking ahead, Miller hopes to continue growing as both an educator and a leader. She is passionate about mentoring fellow teachers and strengthening opportunities that help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
“Mrs. Miller is exceptionally deserving of this honor because she consistently exemplifies our campus vision of Be the Best through both her instructional practice and leadership beyond the classroom,” said Kimbrough Middle School Principal Lacy Starnes.
