Made to Teach
Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation? The Made to Teach initiative within Mesquite ISD’s Teaching & Training program of study is an incredible four-year pathway into the classroom!
Step into real Mesquite ISD elementary and middle school classrooms to gain immersive, hands-on experience under the mentorship of outstanding MISD educators. As you build real-world teaching skills, you'll also get a jump-start on your college degree through dual credit opportunities with Dallas College and have the chance to earn your TEA Educational Aide I certification before even graduating high school!
Best of all, you can lock in your future right here in Mesquite ISD. Students who complete the Teaching & Training Program of Study (minimum of 4 credits), maintain an overall 3.0 GPA, and earn A’s or B’s in program courses are eligible to sign an official Mesquite ISD Guaranteed Teaching Contract at the end of their senior year! Complete your bachelor’s degree, traditional student teaching program, and Texas teaching certification, and your job at MISD will be waiting for you after college graduation.
