Hours of Operation
MEHC is open year round, including winter, spring and summer breaks. The office is closed on all major holidays. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pharmacy hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Only one problem can be addressed during these visits.
Inclement Weather Policy
On days that Mesquite ISD announces it is closed due to inclement weather:
- The Health Center and Pharmacy will be open, but only from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- All scheduled appointments will be automatically cancelled with no charge for missed appointments.
- The Health Center will see only walk-ins on these days. Individuals with a scheduled appointment for that day may still show up, but they will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mesquite Employee Health Center and Pharmacy
About the Pharmacy:
- Services available to all Mesquite ISD Plan HD and Plan 2 health plan participants (and Primary and Primary+ plan participants only if MEHC PCP provider is elected as primary).
- MEHC Pharmacy is not an in-network provider for the Baylor Scott & White HMO Health Plan.
- Prescriptions must be dropped off no later than 5:15 PM in order to have it filled that same day. Any prescription dropped off or called in after 5:15 PM will be ready the next business day.
- Prescriptions from any doctor will be filled.
- Prescriptions may be called in or faxed by a provider (physician), but original prescriptions cannot be faxed by the patient. Patients must bring in original prescriptions to be filled.
- Insurance card and photo ID must be presented.
- MEHC can be used for 90 day supplies so that you do not have to use the Caremark mail order.
- MISD contributes $7 toward a regular prescription (30 days or less) and $15 toward maintenance drugs (90 day fills)* if cost exceeds stated amount.
- Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express accepted.
*HSA plan participants do not qualify for the discounts until the plan deductible is met.

About the Health Center:
- Services available to all Mesquite ISD Plan HD and Plan 2 health plan participants (and Primary and Primary+ plan participants only if MEHC PCP provider is elected as primary).
- MEHC is unable to provide services to plan participants who are also enrolled in Medicare B or Medicaid.
- MEHC is not an in-network provider for the Baylor Scott & White HMO health Plan (with exception of Quest lab services only from outside provider).
- Basic primary and minor emergency care provided.
- Focus is on wellness and preventive care.
- Staff includes three providers: Physician, Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner.
Appointments
- Physicals, screenings, and referrals provided. (Remember, ANNUAL PHYSICALS ARE FREE.)
- Patients seen by appointment starting at 8:30 a.m. daily.
- Walk-ins for sick visits only are accepted 7 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
(Please note, only one problem can be addressed during these visits). - Children ages 2-years-old and up are welcome.
- Immunizations are given at MEHC for children age 4 or older. Your child's complete immunization record must be submitted in order to schedule an appointment (a physical is required).
Payments and Insurance
- Insurance card and photo ID must be presented at appointment.
- Cost for visits is a $25 or $30 copay* (i.e. cosmetic, skin biopsies, toenail removals, abscess drainage, joint injections, etc.)
- There is a $25 fee for no shows/late cancellation.
- Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard accepted.
- Orders for lab work received from an outside provider can be performed at our Quest collection site.
*HSA plan participants do not qualify for the discounts until the plan deductible is met.
