Hours of Operation
MEHC is open year round, including winter, spring and summer breaks. The office is closed on all major holidays. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pharmacy hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Only one problem can be addressed during these visits.
Pharmacy and Clinic Holidays
The MEHC and Pharmacy will be closed on the following holidays:
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving day and the day after (Black Friday)
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day and the day after if Christmas falls in the middle of the week.
- New Years Eve (closed half day)
- New Years Eve
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Memorial Day
- June 19 (Juneteenth)
- July 4th
Inclement Weather Policy
On days that Mesquite ISD announces it is closed due to inclement weather:
- The Health Center and Pharmacy will be open, but only from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- All scheduled appointments will be automatically cancelled with no charge for missed appointments.
- The Health Center will see only walk-ins on these days. Individuals with a scheduled appointment for that day may still show up, but they will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mesquite Employee Health Center and Pharmacy
About the Pharmacy:
- Services available to all Mesquite ISD health plan participants.
- Prescriptions must be dropped off no later than 5:15 PM in order to have it filled that same day. Any prescription dropped off or called in after 5:15 PM will be ready the next business day.
- Prescriptions from any doctor will be filled.
- Prescriptions may be called in or faxed by a provider (physician), but original prescriptions cannot be faxed by the patient. Patients must bring in original prescriptions to be filled.
- Insurance card and photo ID must be presented.
- MEHC can be used for 90 day supplies so that you do not have to use mail order.
- MISD contributes $7 toward a regular prescription (30 days or less) and $15 toward maintenance drugs (90 day fills)* if cost exceeds stated amount.
- Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express accepted.
*HSA plan participants do not qualify for the discounts until the plan deductible is met.

New Patient Forms
All new patients must complete the following paperwork before receiving MEHC services. Please note: forms are fillable online, however they must be printed for signature and brought with you to your appointment.
About the Health Center:
- Services available to all Mesquite ISD health plan participants.
- MEHC is unable to provide services to plan participants who are also enrolled in Medicare B or Medicaid.
- Basic primary and minor emergency care provided.
- Focus is on wellness and preventive care.
Appointments
- Physicals, screenings, and referrals provided. (Remember, ANNUAL PHYSICALS ARE FREE.)
- Patients seen by appointment starting at 8:30 a.m. daily.
- Walk-ins for sick visits only are accepted 7 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
(Please note, only one problem can be addressed during these visits). - Children ages 2-years-old and up are welcome.
- Immunizations are given at MEHC for children age 4 or older. Your child's complete immunization record must be submitted in order to schedule an appointment (a physical is required).
- Virtual Appointments can be made by navigating to the Spruce Health Website link on this page during normal business hours. Employees are also welcome to use Teladoc virtual health care after hours and on weekends and holidays when the MEHC is closed.
Payments and Insurance
- Insurance card and photo ID must be presented at appointment.
- Cost for visits is a $15 or $30 copay (i.e. cosmetic, skin biopsies, toenail removals, abscess drainage, joint injections, etc.)
- There is a $15 fee for no shows/late cancellation.
- Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard accepted.
- Orders for lab work received from an outside provider can be performed at our Quest collection site.

This unique partnership between the City of Mesquite and Mesquite ISD is an innovative approach to controlling the cost of health care. It is a tremendous benefit and convenience to employees and dependents who participate in the respective health plans. Patients must carry MISD insurance to participate. MEHC services are not available to retirees/dependents on TRS Care or Scott & White HMO plan participants.
