In January, Mesquite ISD will launch a new opportunity designed to give families and community members a behind-the-scenes look at district operations and programs. Envoy will mimic the former ALIVE program, which allowed group members to visit campuses, experience programs and meet district decision-makers in person. Now with Zoom, these experiences can take place virtually.
Mesquite ISD will explore a new topic with ENVOY participants through a Zoom webinar every couple of weeks. Each ENVOY session will begin at noon and last approximately 30-45 minutes. Through recorded video and live interactions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of operations, policies, state/federal requirements and specialized programs MISD offers its students. Topics may include curriculum, school finance/budgeting, special education, accountability, staffing/recruiting, career & technical education and much more. Sessions will be recorded so that class members who are unable to attend the live webinar may watch the recorded version at a later time.
Members of the 2022 ENVOY class will remain together from January through December. A Spanish-language class is also planned. Space is limited to 100 participants for 2022.
In a few weeks, more details, including a webinar schedule, will be sent to those who sign up for the program. We look forward to getting to know you through ENVOY!
