SSES Grants Available for Families of Eligible Special Education Students

Supplemental Special Education Services (SSES) gives a $1,500 one-time online grant to parents/caregivers of eligible students served by special education who are enrolled in a Texas public school. Families can use this money to purchase educational goods and services for their students.

Families of eligible students can use the online accounts to obtain educational materials and resources and/or services such as additional therapy, tutoring or other specific services.

Beginning Nov. 1, 2021, to be eligible for the SSES grant, students must currently be:

  • enrolled in a Texas public school,
  • enrolled in PreK - 12th grade,
  • and a student with a disability served through Special Education.

Beginning Nov. 1, families may apply for the next round of grant allocations, which begin January of 2022. Families who previously applied and received an SSES $1,500 grant will not be eligible. The following links provide additional information for families who may qualify for this assistance.
