Embark on an unforgettable summer journey with Mesquite ISD's newest adventure, Camp Excel! Designed for rising 1st to 6th graders, this enriching program offers two weeks of exploration and discovery in July. With a variety of sessions including art, robotics, creative writing, culinary arts, and more, Camp Excel promises something for every young mind to thrive and explore.

Classes run Monday through Thursday for three hours each day, with convenient morning and afternoon sessions available. At just $50, it's an incredible value for the wealth of knowledge and fun awaiting your child. Registration is open now through June 13. *No full refunds will be given. If you need to cancel your student’s registration, you can receive a 50% refund if you cancel by 4:00 pm Thursday, June 6. No refunds will be given on cancellations after that date. 

*If the class that you have registered your child for does not have enough signs ups for the class to make, you can either request a full refund or you can transfer your student to another Camp Excel class.

Combining STEM and Reading Comprehension 1st-2nd Students will select a book, design new characters, and create a solution to the problem faced by the character using engineering principles. Build models of an invention mentioned in the book. Sonia Pasallo REGISTRATION CLOSED
Robotics with Indi and Bolt 1st-4th Students will learn basic coding using Sphero, Indi, and Bolt. Students will be challenged to problem solve as they work through various challenges in small groups. We will build mazes and other obstacles for our robots to navigate through and around.
*Students will need to bring their Chromebooks to this class.

LEGO World 1st-3rd Get ready to dive into an exciting world of innovation and creativity! Students will use STEAM skills to build, explore, and investigate LEGO creations through rigorous activities that are designed to ensure a fun and enriching experience for all. Purposeful Play with LEGOs and Coding 1st-3rd Students will learn STEAM concepts through play with Lego Essential Kits. Students will engineer builds such as amusement park rides, carnival games, and modes of transportation. Students will then learn simple coding to make their creations come to life.

Sod Squad 101 1st-3rd Explore the exciting world that lives in the dirt! We will have fun, hands-on gardening activities where children learn valuable skills cultivating fresh produce! Best part is they will be able to take their projects home and enjoy it with the family! Together we'll nurture a love for nature, sustainability, and community engagement.

Programming with Robots 1st-3rd In this class, students will learn to code using robots, such as Spheros, Ozobots, and Bee Bots. Students will use critical thinking skills to solve problems, creativity to build mazes and other obstacle courses for robots to navigate, as well as goal setting and planning to program a robot to complete tasks. Nature Inspired Art & Science 4th-6th In this class, we'll combine art and science by exploring how nature inspires both creativity and scientific discoveries. Activities will include nature collages, nature sketches with different nature objects brought to class, and rock painting. Fashion Design 4th-6th Celebrate your passion for FASHION at Camp EXCEL! Join the class where tie dye never dies, honor the bracelet era, create custom fashion sketches, and sew your very own pillowcase! Digital Art 5th-6th In this class, Students will be introduced to digital art creation through guided exploration and experimentation using Adobe Express.
