ClassKick
Classkick is a formative assessment tool that allows students to show what they know and get feedback from their teacher. This tool lets the students work through assignments at their own pace and can be used during synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
Purpose

- allows multiple ways to check for understanding including multiple choice and open ended questions
- allows teacher to see immediate results as students finish
- allows for immediate feedback to students

EdPuzzle
Edpuzzle is the easiest way to share videos to your students while embedding questions and discussion to track your students' understanding. Teachers can take already existing videos from Khan Academy, YouTube, Crash Course, etc. or upload your own. Students engage in self-paced lessons with interactive lessons and add your voice and questions along the video. All Mesquite ISD teachers have paid accounts in EdPuzzle and may log in with their MISD Google credentials.

Escape Challenges
Escape challenges are an immersive gaming experience that allows students to solve curriculum based series of puzzles where they use teamwork and critical thinking to achieve an end goal. Teachers can use premade games from the BreakoutEDU website, use teacher generated games from MesquiteISD's google drive or create their own to best meet the needs of their students.
Purpose
- Formative and summative assessment tool
- Encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication as students are working towards a common goal
- Provides immediate feedback to students
- Allows for student reflection and cultivates grit with the opportunities to fail forward.

Formative
Formative is a real-time online student response system/formative assessment tool where students can type, draw, or submit images to demonstrate their understanding. Formative allows teachers to upload any doc/pdf/image and insert questions or links right on the document!

Kahoot!
Kahoot! is a fun and free multiple choice online quiz that works on any device with an Internet connection . Add videos, images and diagrams to your questions to amplify engagement!
Kahoots! are displayed on a shared screen and are best played in a group setting where Players answer individually on their own devices or work together in pairs or groups to answer.
Create your own or choose and modify public Kahoots! to fit your class needs and instructional goals.

- Encourage deeper thinking by creating higher level questions and extending time limits for the answer choices.

Mentimeter is a web-based tool that lets you engage and interact with your audience in real-time. You set the questions and your audience can give their input via a mobile phone or any other internet connected device
Purpose
- Polling website
- Allows for quick assessment to check for understanding
- Easy to use - students can use phones or computer/laptop/chromebook as long as they have internet connection.
- Multiple ways to display results to facilitate discussions with students
- Can generate QR codes for voting

Padlet
Padlet is a virtual, collaborative wall that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, documents, text) anywhere on the page, together with anyone, from any device. Students are able to respond to others using the comment feature.
Purpose
- to use as a assessment tool to check for student understanding
- as a location for student/teacher digital portfolios
- to use as a back channel discussion board
- to collaborate on ideas and planning
- use to collect feedback or as a ticket out the door

PearDeck
Pear Deck is a formative assessment tool that is embedded into Google Slides presentations to allow for teachers to check for understanding during their direct teach lesson. Pear Deck also has the capability to have self-paced mode turn on at any point during the presentation. All Mesquite ISD teachers have Premium accounts and may log in with their MISD Google credentials.

Plickers

Plickers is a powerfully simple tool that lets teachers collect real-time formative assessment data without the need for student devices. You can poll your class for free without the need for student devices. Just give each student a card (a "paper clicker" downloaded free from Plickers.com), and use your MISD teacher iPad to scan them. Best of all, your data is automatically saved, student-by-student, at plickers.com.

Quizizz is a multiplayer classroom activity. This tool allows all your students to practice together or independently through quizzes. They can be created by the teacher or assigned from the quiz bank within the online tool. Any device connected to the internet can be used to use quizizz.

Family Feed
AYO’s Family Feed is a family’s go-to hub to find personalized updates for their child(ren), classroom activities, campus events, and district initiatives all in one place. We believe in the power of partnership between schools and families. With Family Feed, they will gain insights to help them actively engage in their child's educational experience, making learning a collaborative adventure.
This feature also serves as a communication tool for our Mesquite ISD family. District and campus personnel are able to post announcements and share information with staff and students across the district and on your campuses.

Google Workspace for Education
Google Workspace for Education is a set of Google tools and services that are tailored for schools to collaborate, streamline instruction, and keep learning safe. Mesquite ISD utilizes Education Fundamentals accounts, not paid. If you’re new to these tools, try Getting Started with Google for Education, an 8-week series of <10 minute mini lessons.
We encourage our educators to pursue Google for Education Certifications. These certifications demonstrate mastery of Google tools in classrooms and validate expertise in technology integration skills. For more information, click here.
Digital Citizenship
Employing ethical and responsible behavior online protects the rights, property, identity, and safety of all technology users. Digital Citizenship is the standard for responsible and ethical use of technology and includes topics such as Internet Safety, Digital Footprint, Copyright, Information Literacy and Privacy. Employees and students of Mesquite ISD are expected to adhere to the District's Acceptable Use Policies as part of being good Digital Citizens. Teachers can receive training on how to create safe and positive online experiences here.
Acceptable Use Policy
The Mesquite ISD Acceptable Use Policy, or AUP, documents address the appropriate use of district technology by both employees and students. Students acknowledge receipt and understanding of this document by signing their Code of Conduct document; employees do the same in the Standard Operating Procedure course.

Coding and Computer Science promote problem solving and critical thinking. Building students’ skills in these areas provides pathways to future real-world learning opportunities.

ChatGPT
ChatGPT can save you time spent on lesson planning, offer quick ideas for activities, and provide personalized feedback for your students, making your teaching more efficient and engaging.
To create a free account, teachers may use district credentials and choose "login with Google." ChatGPT has not been approved for MISD students at this time.

Khanmigo
Khanmigo can enhance your teaching by offering personalized tutoring, interactive practice, and instant support for students, helping them to better understand complex concepts and stay engaged in their learning.
Khanmigo, part of Khan Academy, is free for all US educators. Plan lessons, develop exit tickets, and more with their AI teaching assistant.
MISD students and teachers can use MISD Google credentials to login to Khanmigo.
Magic School
Magic School AI can simplify your teaching by automating tasks such as grading, creating assignments, and generating lesson ideas, allowing you to focus more on student engagement and personalized instruction.
MISD teachers may create a Magic School account and login with MISD Google credentials. Magic School is not currently accessible for students.

All software, apps, extensions, add-ons and websites must be approved by the Mesquite ISD Software Committee who evaluates resources using this rubric. This ensures the following: All MISD users follow Acceptable Use Policy, Terms of Service, and the law; Resources are TEKS aligned and appropriate for learning; To provide a manageable, sustainable and compatible infrastructure for devices, users and applications to work in a secure manner.

Google Arts and Culture
What is it?
Google Arts & Culture features content from over 1200 leading museums and archives who have partnered with the Google Cultural Institute. It features a Daily Digest, Stories of the Day, and Featured Projects. They also offer exploration features such as zoom in options, time and color, and artists. Links to the art and culture partners are located on the home page as well.
Purpose
Google desires to bring the worlds' treasures of art and culture online to reach the world. This tool allows people from everywhere to be exposed to the arts.
