Mesquite ISD Earns National Recognition for Music Education for 13th Consecutive Year

Mesquite Independent School District has once again been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education by The NAMM Foundation, marking the district’s 13th consecutive year receiving the national honor.
Now in its 27th year, the Best Communities for Music Education program celebrates school districts across the country that demonstrate outstanding commitment to providing students with access to high quality music education. In 2026, Mesquite ISD was among approximately 1,000 districts and schools nationwide to earn this distinction, placing it among a select group of leaders in music education.
The recognition highlights the district’s continued investment in strong instructional programs, high levels of student participation, and the support of families and the community. It also reflects the collaboration and alignment across Mesquite ISD’s fine arts programs, which work together to provide meaningful and enriching experiences for students.
District leaders say the honor reinforces the important role music education plays in student development. Through participation in music programs, students build creativity, discipline, and a strong sense of connection to their school community.
Mesquite ISD’s continued recognition underscores its commitment to ensuring all students have access to a well rounded education that includes the arts.
