Mesquite ISD Celebrates Future Educators at Ready, Set, Teach Guaranteed Contract Signing Day
Mesquite ISD proudly celebrated the next generation of educators during the annual Ready, Set, Teach Guaranteed Contract Signing Day, where 25 high school seniors officially signed their first teaching contracts with Mesquite ISD. These contracts guarantee the students' employment with the district once they graduate from college and earn their teaching certification.
The event highlights MISD’s ongoing commitment to growing and supporting future educators through career pathway programs and community partnerships. Program and district leaders gathered to recognize the students’ accomplishments and encourage them as they begin their journey into the teaching profession.
In addition to signing their future teaching contracts, several students were recognized with scholarships to support their college education.
Through Mesquite ISD’s Educate Texas partnership with Texas Woman’s University (TWU), six future TWU students each received a $2,000 scholarship to continue pursuing their degrees in education.
One Mesquite High School student was also awarded a scholarship by Phi Delta Kappa.
The Ready, Set, Teach program provides students with hands-on classroom experience and a direct pathway into the teaching profession, helping address the growing need for passionate and qualified educators in classrooms.
