Mesquite ISD earned an overall B rating in the 2025-26 Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability ratings, marking the second consecutive year the district has received a B rating.

Across Mesquite ISD, 24 campuses earned a combined 51 Distinction Designations for outstanding academic performance compared with similar schools across Texas.

Among this year’s highlights, Vanguard High School earned all seven available distinctions for the third year in a row. Austin Elementary and Moss Elementary each earned all six distinctions available to elementary campuses. Across all grade levels, Mesquite ISD campuses also earned 17 distinctions in science.

These distinctions recognize specific areas of academic achievement at campuses across Mesquite ISD.

How Are A-F Ratings Determined?

The TEA accountability system evaluates districts in three areas: Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps. Together, these measures resulted in Mesquite ISD’s overall B rating for 2025-26.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 14, families and community members can view Mesquite ISD’s complete 2025-26 accountability information on TXSchools.gov, the Texas Education Agency’s online accountability portal.
