Mesquite High School Culinary Students Serve Winning Recipe at AT&T Stadium
Mesquite High School Culinary Arts students took their award-winning recipe from the competition kitchen to AT&T Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 20, serving fans during a Dallas Cowboys game.
The opportunity followed the students’ first-place finish in the Taste of the Cowboys Youth Challenge last spring. As the winning team, the students earned the chance to prepare and serve their chicken birria tacos at a Cowboys game, along with $10,000 for the MHS Culinary Arts program.
Students spent the days leading up to the game preparing their recipe before heading to AT&T Stadium for the event. There, they gained firsthand experience serving in a major professional venue while connecting with culinary and hospitality professionals.
The experience gave students an opportunity to put the skills they have developed in the classroom into practice on one of the biggest stages in North Texas.
