Athletic Policy and Procedure
STUDENT ENTRY POLICY
- Middle School student spectators will only be allowed into an MISD event with their parent or guardian, and their ticket must be on the parent's or guardian's mobile device.
- High School students will be allowed into MISD events involving their school and must show a Student ID to enter a contest involving their school, along with their online ticket. Students may utilize Skyward in place of a student ID if needed.
- If students plan to attend an MISD event other than their high school, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
EMPLOYEE ENTRY POLICY
Employees may attend MISD events for free with a current employee ID. Free admission is for the employee only. Family members or guests of the employee must purchase tickets to enter.
Security Procedures for All Events at Mesquite ISD Facilities
- All students in grades 6-12, including non-Mesquite ISD students, must present a valid student ID to enter any event.
- No one may enter basketball games after the start of the fourth quarter.
- Mesquite ISD has a clear bag policy for athletic events.
- Elementary students will not be admitted without adult supervision.

To provide a safer environment for our students, staff and guests, Mesquite ISD has implemented a clear bag policy at all middle and high school athletic events hosted by the District. This Clear Bag Policy limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into any MISD athletic facility and is very similar to policies adopted by many of our opponents and neighboring school districts.
Approved Bags:
- Small clutch bags: no larger than 5.5” x 8.5”
- Clear bags: 12” x 12” x 6” or smaller
- 1 Gallon Plastic Freezer Bag
Exceptions to the clear bag policy will be made for camera bags, necessary medical items and diaper bags when accompanied by an infant or young child.
All bags and personal items brought into MISD Athletic Facilities are subject to visual inspection.
Bags NOT allowed in Mesquite ISD Athletic Venues:
- Backpacks (including clear, mesh, sling, or drawstring bags)
- Purses or fanny packs larger than 5.5” x 8.5”
