Distance Learning Resources for Parents
Mark Your Calendars for Packet Pick-up Days
For those families without Internet or computer/device access, teachers are preparing printed packets with two weeks of assignments for their students. Packets are available for pick-up on April 8 and April 22 at each campus.
Families, if you need help with accessing resources — or how to use the resources — click the button below to connect with a staff member ready to support you.
Chromebooks Available for Checkout -- 1 Per Family
Each family that has a child enrolled in Mesquite ISD may check out one Chromebook per family for their children to use for distance learning. Parents will be required to sign the device agreement and pick up the device at the school their oldest child attends. The device must be returned to the district when the closure ends. At this time, MISD is only distributing one Chromebook per family.
If you would like to request a device for your family, complete the form by clicking the button below. Because device quantities are limited at each campus, we ask that you submit a request for your oldest child only; however, every MISD student in your family may use the device. If you cannot access the website because you do not have internet access, you may contact the campus to submit your request.
Messages from Mesquite ISD
March 31, 2020
On the order of the Governor of Texas announced this afternoon, Mesquite ISD will remain closed through May 1. It is important to support the efforts of our local and national health and government officials to limit the spread of COVID-19. Those officials report that we have not yet seen a peak in the number of new cases of the virus, and we must continue to limit contact with others to protect the most vulnerable in our community.
We know that this closure is difficult for families, for students and for our employees. Everyone wants to get back to the normal routine as soon as possible, but safety must take priority. MISD extends its sincere appreciation to all of our families for their support and cooperation as we do our best to continue learning at home. More than ever, parents are our partners in the education effort.
Our teachers will continue to provide online and printed lessons for students during the closure, and our Food and Nutrition staff members will also provide meals. All of our staff members – many who work behind the scenes – will continue to provide the resources and the assistance you need.
