Spotlight Scholarships

To request that a scholarship be added to this page, complete the following online form. This scholarship page is updated weekly and notifications will be removed from the page when the application deadline expires.

The following scholarships have been received in the counseling centers. Please check in the counseling center at your high school for additional scholarships. NOTE: This page is best viewed on a full-size computer screen; it may not display properly on a mobile device. Scholarships below are sorted by deadline date.  Click the drop down to see requirement information, award amounts, deadlines and a link to the application.

All MISD Seniors: make sure you complete the LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP application to be eligible for several different scholarships. This is the first scholarship listed. Return to the counseling center at your school.

There are also other potential scholarship opportunities listed below. When applying for a school you should also check out what scholarships they offer to incoming freshmen through the university web page. New scholarships are added as they arrive.

Visit the Collegeboard BigFuture Scholarship Search page to find scholarships, financial aid and internships from more than 2,200 programs, totaling more than $6 billion. You can also view the Collegeboard Scholarship Partners and Programs page for more specific scholarship opportunities. 

Going Merry is a scholarship website that makes it simple to find and apply for scholarships. Once you set up your account, GoingMerry matches you with the scholarships that you are most eligible for, apply directly for multiple scholarships, it autofills your information into each application and helps prioritize according to deadline.

Visit Scholarship Buddy Texas to search for scholarships.  Scholarship Buddy focuses on providing scholarship information to high school and college students in the state of Texas. We pride ourselves on having the most in depth information available to Texas students, as it pertains to scholarship programs and scholarship application deadlines across the state. 

Visit the Chamber of Commerce website for listed scholarships. Information about the difference between scholarships and grants, how to apply, how to search and some of the best scholarships for nursing, community service, minorities and career specific scholarships are listed.
